New Frontiers in Food Education
Our practices encourage collaboration and a culture of sharing with teaching sections supporting each other with commodities and expertise. This, in turn, influences our students who take these good habits back to the community and industry.
Purchasing produce from our local farms with our paddock to plate functions and champion the slow food movement through events such as 100 mile dinners.
The food that was provided at our recent function was just a little sample of our students’ work that demonstrates a wholesome and healthy approach to eating that bears a social conscience.
The ingredients in your lunch today were grown by Richmond College horticulture and agriculture students and sourced from local farms at Galston and Schofields. These recipes and more can be downloaded from the link below.

Training restaurant meets industry standard
On Monday 11 October at a gala presentation dinner at the Sydney Exhibition and Conference Centre, TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute’s The Hills College training restaurant, 21fiftythree at Baulkham Hills Campus took out the award for ‘Restaurant in a Training Institute’ at the Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Association of NSW’s Awards of Excellence.
